We finally had some decent weather this weekend at stockdale. Scores all around were very good. We had some strong scores, but not enough for individual placement - but we are a strong team.
Here are the results:
2nd Place Team, Singles: Nick Kelchen, Logan Kemp, Morgan Ray, Luke Moberg and Rowyn Hill.
2nd Place Team Handicap: Nick Kelchen, Griffin Vierling, Alex Pocernich, Morgan Ray, and Oliver Aldrich
1st Place Team, Sporting Clays: Nick Kelchen, Griffin Vierling, Drew Binns
Friday night is Cash 4 Clays. I ask that every Hawks athlete participate by obtaining 5 sponsors. The donation form is on the app under news, or get a hard copy at practice. We will start at 530 and fill squads as you arrive. Check in with your donation forms, and check back out before you leave. All proceeds are due in the week following. We will finish the night with Annie Oakly. This will be a meet, prizes 1-3 for the 100 target meet in the senior and ie disciplines. Awards also for top earner and Annie Oakly.
Looking forward, things are a little chaotic for the Leather Shoot. Spots are very limited, we have enough singles and skeet, but only 1 squad each for handicap and doubles. The way things shake out with the time frames athletes will have to pick one. For those who have already signed up please contact me at practice. For those who haven't signed up, please put a note in the ticket for a preference. This ticket closes tuesday 6 pm.
May 16 - I will be opening a ticket on tuesday night for the Shark Meet. This will be based on coach availability. Its a 100 target meet at Stockdale for singles, handicap and doubles.
May 17 - Otter Creek Leather meet Cedar Rapids. 100 targets singles and doubles. This meet is still in question as we assess coach availability.
I will keep looking for additional slots for the leather meet as a few may pop up. We will adjust as needed once they open up.
State application has been submitted, but no word on slots. We won't know days or times until it is posted.
State Skeet applications go out may 4.
Nationals - I will be submitting the registration forms this week.
I know a few wanted to sign up last week after the deadline closed. I do apologize that I couldn't get you in. The slots available depend on the host, some have flexibility some don't. With the new 300 target league, teams quickly take up slots.
Seniors, be at practice by 6pm - I would like to get a senior photo to post in school. No guns or ammo visible
Coaches, I need a quick moment to help sort out the next few weeks. I have conflicts for the next few weekends. Let's meet after mondays practice.
