This week's competition was – – interesting. There were some miscommunications and confusion from the organizer and the Beenen mobile witnessed a semi loose its rear wheels and the ensuing accident. In spite of it all, Griffen had a great day shooting a 97/100 and taking 3rd. As a team we were just a few clays out from placing, proving every clay counts.
We have several things coming up.
Cash 4 Clays is moved to our regular practice night on May 8. Every athlete is asked to participate by obtaining 5 donors. Its a 100 target meet with awards for high score male, female, top earner, and last man/woman standing. This is important as funds will be utilized to offset costs and target fees.
Closing Tuesday
State Skeet ticket - interest ticket only at this moment. Fees will be $96 once we secure slots
State Sporties ticket- interest ticket only at this moment. Fees will be $185 once we secure slots. Additionally, I received info from the event on rentals for golf carts (encouraged) and swag: https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/IACIO/bulletins/413805f Reminder this is a 2 day event.
Regionals ticket closes Tuesday. Remember this is prom weekend, which is why we have such a rushed schedule. We start with sporties in Ackley at 3pm Friday afternoon. I will submit a list to the school of athletes who will attend. Next morning we start at 8: 30. The last event will wrap up at 1pm with doubles.

Opening Now:
May 9, Cedar Falls Leather shoot. This was not on the original calendar list as it conflicted with our cash 4 clays, but has always been a popular event. We have limited slots at this time, so first come first serve for spots. There is a chance more will open up. Note, I didn't put in a handicap ticket as we don't have those slots yet. Also, skeet/doubles time frames will be very tight.
Vests: athletes who are in their second season, we are looking for vests. So far, I have Filmer, Magill, Villagas,Shirbrown, Ruby. Let us know if we have missed anyone. Now for the bad news - most sizes are sold out (we had this problem since last spring). Ive expanded my search crew and we will keep you up to date
As always we will have routine practice on monday/thursday/friday. Take advantage of the one on one time.
