4/12/26 News and Notes
We finished strongly at New Pioneer with some good trap scores. Griffin shot 50 straight to get his 49 pin (we are reconfirming the pin count) with several other scores of 90+. It also shows how these meets can turn on time slots. When I put out the house we were to shoot at was on its 3rd box and getting ready to finish ½ hour early, the squad behind was a scratch so in theory we should have ran 1.5 hrs ahead. As it played out the squad ahead of us ended up being late and was pretty slow. We ended up running behind.
We have several things coming up this week:
Tickets closing Tuesday
STATE If you're thinking of state it's imperative you take an interest ticket. We need to register with SCTP this week. This is the only way we can preference slots and times as a team and we must pay at the time of submission.
4/18 Black Oak Clays Sporties and Skeet
4/18 Jags Dino Meet - Ankeny 50 targets, singles, handicap or doubles

Tickets Opening:
4/25 Cedar Falls 100 target singles meet. This meet is full so take tickets early. I've held 3 squads with no guarantees of more slots. This is where we shoot state in a few months.
SPECIAL TICKET
DUE MONDAY NIGHT - as I left New Pioneer on Saturday, I was asked if the Hawks would participate in a 50 target skeet dual. Lets try to meet as close to 530 as possible. I'm guessing cost will be $20
Upcoming dates
May 9th will be our spring fundraiser - Cash for Clays. This will be a 100 target meet with prizes for high scores and top fundraisers. Forms will go out this week. Basically, we ask that you get a minimum of 5 sponsors. They can sponsor per target or a 1x donation. If they sponsor you .25 per target and you shoot 100 targets, the sponsor owes the team $25. Its a family event, so invite family and friends. We also ask that you watch out for the sign up genius for donations and work times for concession slots. There is at least 1 other team signed up at this point.
This Thursday is Steak Night, bringing family and friends to north Hy Vee. Thanks to Owen Coulthard, Wrigley and Kaigan for volunteering.

We may have a hat shoot Monday at practice - so 25 straight club bring 2 extra shells.
Keep in mind we are ⅓ of the way through the season. Take advantage of 1on1s and the coaches we have available.
Coaches reminder to highlight on the scoresheets who shoots free rounds
Practices will continue this week, with warmer weather - and hopefully some dry spots.
