8/10/25 News and Notes.
The 24-25 season just wrapped up and now we are talking about starting up all over again. First of all, a quick wrap up of our team awards from July:
Top Shot: Ethan Skow and Morgan Ray
Most Improved: Nick Kelchen and Ivy Tamminga
Rookie of the Year: Greyson Beenen and Carmen Bercill
I will also post a summary of the teams success on the notes tab as well. As a team we were very successful placing in many competitions and being a top team in almost all disciplines.

We will begin fall season with our routine orientation on Sunday 8/24. This will be a joint orientation with new athletes and returning. Due to the short nature of the fall season. (7weeks) we will only have the one opportunity. We will cover team structure, update information, and discuss focus for fall competition. To save time, go under the information tab, read and review the team handbook and bring the signature pages for athlete and parent. You are required to complete this task and will be expected to follow the rules in the handbook.
First Practice will be Sept 8, 530-830 at the Ikes. As in the past there will be no free rounds for fall, so bring your round cards.
Dates upcoming:
8/24/25 Orientation Ankeny Ikes 5-8pm
9/8/25 First Fall Practice
9/6/25 – 2 events: Coe 200 target sporting clays (joint high school college event) Highland Acres
9/6/25 Simpson High School Showcase – Waukee
9/14/25 Potential ATA meet at Otter Creek Sportsmans Club. If we want to compete in handicap we will need complete squads
9/20/25 Days of Clays – fundraiser for midway foundation – all dollars and fees go towards our midway account. No SCTP scores for this event.

We are still in the planning phases, as DNR has not set up the league in SHOT as yet. So plan to be flexible. Hopefully we will have more details by the orientation date.
