7/5/25 News and Notes
It’s been a quick couple of weeks and Ive been stretched a little thin. I have a few quick updates and calendar reminders for nationals and our final practice for the season. For those not going to nationals you can skip to the bottom.l
I’ve posted the 2025 National SCTP Program of events. All travelers should arrive by Sunday evening at the latest, remember it’s a 10hr trip almost anyway you travel. Please check in on the national’s chat room in the app as you arrive so we can have a digital attendance.

In general, for each day plan on sun screen, cooling towels, rain gear, snacks and extra ammo. Don’t forget to keep hydrated, it will make your eyes sharper and mix water with electrolytes. Consider having a product called liquid iv.
Monday 7/14 We will meet at the sporting clays staging area: carts, gear, and ready to shoot no later than 7:30 – that’s going to be cutting it close to when we line up. Once we finish the sporting clays course we will roll into skeet. There wont be much time between the two events so plan ahead. Skeet fields are located just west of the sporting clay range.
Dress of the day – Camo day
Tuesday 7/15 Our start time is a little later, Our Sporting Clay time is 11am, plan to meet at the sporting clay range at 10. We will run the blue course. Again, we will follow up with skeet at 4pm. There is supposed to be a little more time in between, but not much.
Dress of the Day – Neon Day -anything bright OR any prior nationals/team shirt. – not the green one you received today
Wednesday 7/16 We start with handicap at 9:30, meet at 8:30 at houses 10-11. From there we move to doubles on houses 6-7. There should be time inbetween for lunch. This is also the day for opening ceremonies and Annie Oakley. Wrist bands are required to participate. We also will take a team photo that day at the flagpoles. Timing to be determined.

TShirt. Thurs 7/17 Doubles will be the first event, again plan on meeting at the houses an hour early. Handicap will follow. Again, there will be a little time for shops and food.
Dress of the Day – Red White and Blue Day.
Friday 7/18: Friday and Saturday will ebe the heaviest days for competition with large numbers of contestants and heavy traffic. Its also one of our lightest days.
Dress of the Day –Hawks Uniform
Saturday 7/19: This will be the last day of the competition.
Dress of the Day -: Hawaiian Shirt Day
One thing to note. A part of this sport is the social aspect. But I want to remind all athletes – I asked you at the beginning of the season if you wanted to compete or have fun. The direction you gave me was to be competitive. This seasons shooters are some of the most skilled to date. Keeping hydrated and sticking to a sleep schedule will keep this edge. Each one of you are 10ft tall and bullet proof, please take this advice.

Practice Monday night will be held 7/7. 5:30-7pm. Coach Binns will be in charge. I will not be able to attend.
Nationals athletes, watch the team chat rooms for a possible skeet/sporting clays this week.
7/25 will be our last night of practice for the 25 seasons. It is a night to celebrate accomplishments and have a little fun. This is the night for vests and hat shoots.
