6/22/25 News and Notes

22 Jun by Chad Kelchen

State Skeet is now in the books with weather being the major determining factor. Squads put up solid scores, but in 30mph gusts and 105 heat, anyone would struggle.

As a reminder on Monday 6:23 practice – 7pm. We have a meeting for nationals parents to get travel plans understand when you need to arrive and any questions that you may have. We are also going to have patches from state tournaments, such as state league state and sporting clays. We do not have all the patches yet as they ran DNR ran out them – they will be made available as they are received.

Practices will be abbreviated as we are lower in numbers this time of year, our practice times will be 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Practices will be held on 6/23 and 6/30 with the last practice meeting on 7/8.

7/25 will be an award night and a fun night with fun shoot.

For everyone who sees a Ikes member please tell him thank you. They donated a major amount of money to make our budget needs for the year.
Also Id like to thank the Nordstruds and Madsens for stepping up to cover HyVee Steak Night.

This means that all national athletes will have their fees paid. Travel, ammo, food and where you stay is on your own.

Pay attention to the calendar we are already posting dates for next season. So far we have September 6th with a sporting clay event that we are sponsoring with Coe college.
September 20th the day of Clays which is a fundraising event for our Midway account and is limited in numbers.
We are also looking at a few ATA meets to get the season going.

Lastly, watch the weather forecast for 6/23. If severe weather occurs we may need to make a last minute decision to cancel or not to cancel practice. IF we do – the parent meeting will not be held and we will put all information into the 2025 Nationals Chat room. If you are not on it and should be please let me know asap.
