First off, congratulations to all of the seniors on the team. This will be the last news and notes before state meet week. Basically the team shoots all week with Eli as our only IE singles shooter on Tuesday and most of the team shooting singles on Saturday. A couple quick pointers. All start times are listed as 8am, basically this is the only flight that will be on time for the week. After that, each flight will run in sequence. We will shoot in all weather, minus lighting. The forecast for next week is all over the place with somedays predicted for thunder storms. So come prepared with extra clothes, shoes and rain gear. Gun maintenance is paramount so bring your cleaning kit and towels to dry off. Parking will start bad and get worse with Saturday being the toughest day to find spots. If you have a canopy, please pack it so we have shade or to stay dry.
The team will base its operations out of the trailer which will be located at the east end of the range. If you have volunteered to bring items, please bring them to the trailer on site. Thank you to everyone who have contributed, as a result the team will have water, Gatorade and snacks onsite. Saturday we are planning to grill out for the team. Otherwise, meals are on your own, there will be several vendors on site.
Once you arrive, plan on staying on site until competition is complete and check in with a coach before you leave. Practice rounds are available on site and are usually pretty busy, so be early, these are on your own. Shoot offs are limited this year, but hopefully we will have to take this into consideration. Wednesday will be a mass Annie Oakley for athletes and any one else, it will be held after doubles awards ceremony. Please wear team uniforms on singles days, and hawk apparel for others.
Practices will be suspended for this week, and will this will be the end of free rounds. We will continue to have team practices post state but watch the news and notes and team chat for updates.
Information on nationals is posted under the information tab, and we will have a squad schedule out soon. We were able to secure the last doubles and handicap slots this morning. Basically we will shoot Monday 7/14 – Saturday 7/19.
