This weekend was tough to shoot, as we faced some of the highest wind gusts seen in competition since last years doubles day at state. Even though we didn’t bring home any hardware, the team scores were up there. Taking 3rd place in team.
I had a few ask about league this week to determine what it consists of. Basically, if you shot in any tournament this year, you have entered a league score. In some cases teams will take a regular practice night and invite other teams as well as meeting a few other minimum posting items and the scores collected can go to league. Ive tried to put the pdf in the app, but once again I am loosing. We have secured all the slots needed for athletes and a schedule will follow in the next week or two. Basically, IEs shoot 6/8, Handicap 6/4, Doubles 6/5 and Singles 6/6 (Nick Ambroseccia Squad) and 6/7.
State Skeet and Sporting Clays flights have been secured as well. We will need to finalize tickets for these events by turning the interest ticket to a pay ticket.
Upcoming Events:
5/20 Crushers Skeet meet. This ticket closes tomorrow night. Athletes meet at Waukee as close to 530 as possible. Squads will be assigned at that time. 100 target event

Everyone Else Please go Buy a Steak Dinner at North HY VEE, invite as many as you know as well as a few you don’t.
5/22/25 Dual at Butch Olafson. This will be a 50 target event for skeet athletes. Timing on this will be very tight, we will need athletes to move on and off the field very efficiently or we will run out of daylight.
5/23/25 Another Dual with Crushers at Ikes. Fields 1,2,3 will focus on singles targets for league score. Field 4 will be regular rounds. This can be a 50 target or 100 target event.
5/24 and 5/25 two separate days of contests for scores at Stockdale. This ticket closes on Tuesday evening. Saturday we will shoot singles, handicap, doubles, and sporties. Sunday is TBD, but singles, handicap and doubles are available.
5/26/25 Memorial Day No Practice.
5/30/25 Last practice before state. Practice will be suspended from 6/2-6/7 as most of us will either be traveling or preparing for state.’
5/31/25 Crushers skeet meet. After discussing with coaches, I am going to pull this event from the calendar. It is Hawks Graduation day in Ames, and we will be short skeet coaches to attend.
Lastly, I have no further updates for Nationals yet. The application has been submitted, and we will shoot, Im just not sure of what days yet. I will be putting together a FAQ based on an older document I found and will set up a chat room this week
