Saturday we offered two opportunities to the team, stretching coaches across multiple events. I want to give special thanks to Steve Odsen, Brian Fischer, and Al Van Thomme. They gave up their Saturday to help us with squads at both events. It was worth it. We have several placings at both events, as well as several personal bests. Mason Moore set the bar on Friday in practice, by completing his Hawk Squad 50, and on Saturday, Logan Kemp shot his first of many to come 25 straight.
For new and old athletes, there are a lot of things to watch in setting up and scheduling tournaments. The squad sheet that is put out is for your benefit and is boiled down from the SHOT system, which is made up with listings of lines from every athlete and team in an event. This is rectified with the data and fees vis the team app. Comparing info between these two cumbersome systems is time consuming and its easy to miss something. If your name doesn’t show up on the squad sheet or if a time doesn’t make sense please ask.

Take a ticket Tuesday
State Ticket will close on Tuesday. There will be no further chances after that, the way registration works just will no allow for it. IEs are encouraged to sign up for singles and handicap. IEs will shoot either Monday or tues for singles and everyone shoots handicap thurs. Jv/Sr Singles will be either fri/sat/ or Sunday. My goal is a squad on Friday with the rest on Saturday – but this is beyond my control. All I get to do is ask for my 3 top priorities for houses, times and days. We are already a couple days later than I d like for this application.

Regionals Closes on Tuesday as well. This meet is at Stockdale with trap events on Saturday and Sporties on Sunday. Each trap event is 100 targets. Again IEs are encouraged to shoot singles and handicap. Plan on being early for shoot times. The only one that usually stays close is the first flight and as he day moves on times get to be more of a estimated guess

Tickets will open for
May 3. 100 singles/handicap/doubles. This is prom weekend. The jags are promising to let us run sr/jv athletes first. Priority for squadding times will be given to those athletes, we will run the other squads later. I cannot promise anything exact, all it takes is for a house to go down.

May 4 is a 100 target ATA meet. Singles are the only targets available. Ive taken 1pm and 2pm slots, and they are limited. ATA meets have cash purses, which we will not participate in as a team.

We are working on additional meets in the meantime during the week especially for skeet and sporties, but there is a lot to be determined.

A reminder, we are reaching the halfway point in the season and our main fundraiser for the season is nearing. May 9 will be the night of the drawing, fun shoots, and mid season awards. Each athlete should strive to sell their allotted tickets – at a minimum. The proceeds from this event directly affects every athlete on this team.

Monday/friday practices will continue as we have with drills and one on ones. Based on this weekends scores – its working. There have been dramatic improvements in practice scores and competition results.
