Tonight is the first of 2 returning athlete orientations. Basically, if you participated last spring, this is for you. Thursday is the second night, which is also Hy Vee North Steak night. The orientations are mandatory, so we can cover seasons update, set expectations and prepare for as much as possible for competition. Thursday is also steak night, we have 1 slot filled – This is not sustainable and we need some fresh faces to step up.
The team will once again be providing “free” training rounds and is required to pay fees for organization. I use the term very loosely, as they still cost the team $12 per athlete per week of season and that doesn’t cover coach rounds or games. This roughly adds up to about $12,000 per season. To that end, Im adding a ticket today that asks for 2 fees. 1 is SCTP and ATA which the team must pay for each athlete, this is $42, a second fee is for those participating in sporting clays or skeet. This ticket will be $15. These fees are assessed 1x per year.
We will complete all orientations including new athlete by the end of the month and season will begin on 3/24. That only gives us a few practices before our first meet on 4/12.
The team will continue to utilize the team app for communications. Continue to read the news and notes found under news tab, chats are for more fluid communications or organizing at meets, practices, etc. Lastly, the calendar is kept up to date as much as possible. News and notes will be weekly starting 3/24 and can be used for planning and updates to season activities.
