The group who attended the Simpson Shoot out represented the team very well. Several scores in the high 40s for a 50 target event in skeet, singles and sporting clays. Congratulations to Alex Pocernich 50 straight in Singles and Jake Madsen 50 straight in skeet.

Our first official practice takes place tomorrow starting at 6pm. If coaches are present and area is set up, we can run early – but safety is paramount. We will not send squads out without at least 1 RSO or coach. If possible, we will set the registration table outside, as I will be conducting new shooter orientation inside. For those who have missed the 2 previous orientations you will need to sit through the first half of the new shooter orientation before hitting the field.

I am adding three more events to the calendar. Sept 22 IKES ATA meet. The flyer talks about payouts for top placement. The team cannot participate in the payouts, but we can participate for the scores. I don’t know what the tax implications are for a non profit paying entry fees for individuals to win cash back so we will compete for SCTP scores. We have also been asked to provide staffing for concessions, score keepers and house loading. Im guessing this will be a 4-6 hour event depending on how many show up, the IKES will provide funding back to the team based on number of volunteers. The second item is OCT 5, Cedar Falls. This event is posted as a buffet of SCTP targets. I am posting 100 singles and 100 skeet. If there is a lot of interest in collecting scores for doubles and handicap, please talk to me at practice. My resonating for this is singles count towards Baxter Cup at state and the hardest to achieve due to the high bar set. We also struggle to find skeet meets in the spring.

Lastly, Sept 19th for HyVee Steak Night. These have been great fundraisers and a great opportunity for us. We will need 3-4 volunteers for 2 hrs each on this night. A signup generous has been created.
TBD – we will be hosting a raffle this season to generate operational funds. Dates and prizes will be forthcoming.
September 14 will be our first meet at Otter Creek in Cedar Rapids. This is a ATA meet, but they will register as sctp targets. THIS TICKET CLOSES ON Tuesday

Sept 22 – 50 targets for singles, handicap or doubles. Entry fee will be $20 per event Sept 17 will be the shutoff for sign up.

Sept 30 will be a special practice. The exact format is to be determined, but we have the opportunity to bring in an outside coach who has success on the state and national college level.

Oct 5 Cedar Falls. 100 targets singles and 100 targets skeet. Oct 1 will be the shutoff for registration.
